TESTIMONIALS

Thank for for being the best teacher and my favorite Rabbi for all time. Always know how much you have meant to me and my family.     - Brenda

We loved our wedding with Rabbi Tom! He helped us on every step of the ceremony, giving us suggestions and ideas to have the ceremony we wanted to have. He’s is very easy to work with: we live in NYC but had the wedding in Miami, so having someone flexible that can work over Skype/email, and make time for meeting with us when we travel to Miami was very important. We recommend him without reservations!    - Leandro & Melis

Rabbi Heyn is an amazing person. We immediately felt understood and supported spiritually. The service was divine! Every word was carefully chosen and it was exquisitely done. We could not imagine to have had somebody else guide us and be by our sides on our wedding day!           - Benjamin & Rebeca

Dear Rabbi Tom - You delivered a beautiful service for my Mom.  My family and I are very grateful that you were "sent" to us.  You definitely have a gift of providing solace to those in need.  I am certain Mom appreciated her proper send-off to eternity.   - Jocelyn

Rabbi - It has been my pleasure to get to know you over the last 5 years or so.  Our Saturday Mornings have transported me to another endeavor: getting to know our religion and developing a greater understanding of the world around me.... Your insight and interpretations of the class have provided me with alternative ways to look at issues and challenges. You have helped to shine a light into a dense forest. For that I will be eternally grateful.         - Perry

You may not know it and I may not have shared it before but you are the first rabbi who made me feel comfortable getting closer to Judaism. You made it fun. You made it philosophical. You made me think and enjoy at the same time and honestly you are a huge reason why I love our faith and why I strive to keep moving forward and closer in my connection to our Creator.... I believe you lead with your love of community, Hashem and all humanity regardless of denomination, and it is felt in your leadership.     - Danny

My husband and I (and our families) could not have asked for a more caring, thoughtful Rabbi to marry us. Rabbi Tom is learned and spiritual but not pushy, an exceptional listener, and an all-around mensch. He was exceptionally accommodating with our pre-wedding meetings, which he was happy to conduct via video conference. We did not want to be married in a Temple, as we have an affinity for the outdoors and consider the natural world to be a chapel in and of itself. Rabbi Tom did not hesitate when we told him we wanted to get married in a park, and even likened to setting to a Sukkah during our ceremony. There are so many officiants listed on the internet that selecting one may feel overwhelming. Rest assured, there is absolutely no way you can go wrong by choosing Rabbi Tom. My husband and I both hold him in the highest regard and recommend him without hesitation.     - Laurie and Brett

Rabbi Heyn went above and beyond his responsibilities to make this occasion so special for our family. He was sensitive and loving and conscientious in explaining the traditions and foundations of our faith.... I have the greatest respect for his character and sincerity.                        -  Penny

Hi Rabbi - You are so wonderfully human, I'm sure that is why I have come to love you. You respond to others with such warmth and caring, it is easy to see your humanity.         - Nancy

You opened me to new spiritual frontiers, the most significant accomplishment that any rabbi can do for a congregant. I admire your decency, your honesty and your openness to challenging ideas.    - Richard

Dear Rabbi Tom - Thank you so much for investing your time in my Jewish education! I've learned so much, and you're such a good teacher. I'm happy I was able to learn from you! From Hebrew to history to spirituality, you've managed to keep my attention and interest in the Jewish religion. You're also a great person to have a conversation with, and I'm glad that you are my rabbi!       - Maia

Rabbi - I appreciate your extremely advanced and insightful knowledge. Your insights and teachings have given me a renewed interest in the study of Torah and Judaism in general.    - Barry

Dear Rabbi Tom - Your presence among us infuses a calm and spiritual resonance that unites us in feeling. Your beautiful and inclusive warm and open heart helps each of us to become a better person. I love the community you helped build. It has contributed greatly to my personal well-being.   - Susan

Dear Rabbi Tom/Moshe - You are a mentsch and a sincere, devoted rabbi. You have touched the lives of so many both within this congregation and throughout our diverse community.        - Fran Ivy

Dear Rabbi Tom - I am grateful and blessed to have known you and learned from you in these too-short years. Though I am on a spiritual path other than Judaism, I recognize a fellow spirit of Love and Light in you.   - Mary

As a wandering American Jew, I encountered many rabbinical styles from the oratorical to the pedantic. I was struck by your slow but steady path of bringing your own style to the Saturday minyan and Torah study. You evoked a sense of belief and faith and, notwithstanding that you were the shepherd during services, there were your private moments of spirituality which, for me and my ambiguity as to prayer, provided a sense that all was part of belonging.

Your style of leading the Torah study was not bombastic and provided a level of scholarship that met the needs of most of the participants at the table. I agree that he contemporary scholarship was a welcome change as I was not familiar with a lot of the writings within the spectrum available.    - Judith

Dear Rabbi Tom - Thank you for so honoring my father at his memorial service and for being a friend and council to him and to me this past difficult year. Your VITAS patients are lucky to have your warmth and wisdom. So am I.    - Ellen

Rabbi Heyn was a wonderful addition to our ceremony! He spent time getting to know us ahead of the wedding through emails and FaceTime and we felt that he really cared about us as a couple. The ceremony went well, and he incorporated our ideas and really listened to our opinions. We would definitely recommend him to anyone getting married in South Florida!        - Jennifer

My experience with Rabbi Tom was a genuine pleasure. He made my preparation easy and less stressful even though we talked and prepared over the phone only a few times. Then our meeting in person was comfortable and he led us to a lovely wedding day on Valentines Day. He was relaxed and genuine and helped to make our day a special one. Thanks again, Rabbi Tom.    - Myrna Gay

Rabbi Tom - More than any rabbi I ever had, you taught me how to function as a Jew in he synagogue.   - Bob

Dear Rabbi Tom - I am blessed to have you as my spiritual example & leader, and fortunate to be able to call you a dear friend - Art

Rabbi Tom was a wonderful co-officiant for our interfaith wedding. We met with him twice before the big day, when he got to know about us and our relationship on a personal level; He understood our needs, was very patient and flexible, and helped us put together our ideal program. Additionally, he facilitated contact with the priest who co-officiated, which helped create a beautifully harmonious interfaith ceremony that we and all of our guests will treasure forever. We’re so grateful to have had Rabbi Tom with us for our special day!        - Jacques and Adriana

I know Rabbi Heyn both personally and professionally. I know him from Temple Israel where my father, Rabbi Joseph Narot, served as the rabbi for 30 years. My personal experience with Rabbi Heyn has been very positive and healing. He has helped me through significant rites of passage and, most particularly, enabled me and the entire congregation to heal from the wounds my father's death left, over 30 years ago, by delivering a very compassionate sermon on the topic and making himself available for discussion.

I also know from professional experience that Rabbi Heyn actively participates in initiatives to make our world a better place in which to live. He is an excellent educator and communicator and an asset to our Jewish community.

Rabbi Heyn is, in my opinion, a very wise, spiritual and compassionate man with much to offer to anyone in their time of need.                                  - Susan Gladstone, Executive Director    Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU, Nov 2017
