Your new positions sound like a perfect fit and will allow you to continue to contribute your unusual combination of talents in a most unique and personally satisfying and productive setting. I look forward to hearing of your activities in Vermont and would appreciate to being placed on both your hospice and congregational mailing lists. Your example inspires me. As I phase out from the business world I plan to do more work as a volunteer chaplain at Cedar Village and local hospice groups. May you go with God's blessing from strength to strength. Col Tuv lchah!!!l

Hi Tom, I celebrate your good fortune and new position. I still have your flyer on my desk and was hoping to have your workshop happen...of course it hasn't. I may try to stop by and say good-bye on Friday.

Rabbi Heyn - Mazel Tov on your new positions! Vermont is a beautiful state and I am sure it will be a great fit for you and you will love it there! Joel and I appreciate everything you have done for us and the Dumes/Cohen family. We often talk about our lovely wedding ceremony when speaking to other interfaith couples. You helped us put together the perfect mix of Jewish and Catholic traditions. -Even my devote Catholic father was impressed with the ceremony! Also, thank you again for the time you spent with Joel's grandmother Mary Jean before she passed. You gave her comfort in her final days and that will never be forgotten. You will be missed in Cincinnati. Best of luck to you.

Shalom Tom, Thank-you for your kind invitation and for thinking of me. If the distance wasn't so great I would be there. Let me wish you Hatzlachah in your new venture. Shir HeHarim and Beacon Hospice are fortunate to have you. Perhaps our paths will cross again. I would like that as I recall fondly our time together at the Kallah. Wishing you much joy and fulfillment in the years ahead.

Tom, Mazel tov. I am so pleased that you have found positions that use your strengths and talents and that are meaningful for you - not to mention that they will pay the bills. I wish you all the very best. Vermont is a lovely place and with your warm and gentle personality, I have no doubt that you will make a lot of new friends. Take care Tom, and all the best, Eva

Best thing that ever happened to you, career-wise. It was meant to be. It will give you the opportunity to fulfill your creativity. My son and I have skied most of the mountains in Vt. Get involved in winter sports. Suggest you do as we did in Sun Valley, Idaho: had services on the mountain. Good luck and lots of success.

I want to thank you for helping us with the arrangements for my brother Bob's funeral service. Your eulogy was both accurate and poignant - you clearly have a gift for writing that my mom (a long-time English teacher at Woodward and Walnut Hills HS) would certainly have appreciated. When you have a moment, I would love to have a copy of the thoughts you read on Thursday. I was quite touched by your words and would like to share them with Bob's daughter as well as my children. Again, many thanks for your help at a difficult time.

My mother was always very fond of you and now we know why. Your patience and compassion are abundant. I wanted to express our sincere appreciation for taking the time to be with our family and for conducting the service for Mom. I know she would have been very happy knowing that you were there for her.

Hello Rabbi, I want to tell you how much your phone call meant to me last night. I was feeling depressed about my husband's health, and then you called. Thank you for your support!

Wow! what a phenomenal CD, esp. "I Am," and what incredible musicians you have along with you...you know, I rarely like Jewish songs with English words, but your words are really beautiful, and they fit the rhythm of the song so well, I really, really loved the whole production, including the birds and the sheep, all of it! I listened once at home while I was cleaning, and then I took it in the car with me to listen again while I was driving to work (tutoring bnei mitzvah). I had just dropped my son off at the sitter's, and was heading west towards the shul where I work on Long Island...there is a nice little stretch of road that is very open to the sky and has preserved land on either side. The sun had just set and the sky was all orange and purple and red, and I started the cd...as I was marvelling at its beauty, I saw the sillouette of an owl landing on top of one of the small trees on the preserve next to the road (I've never seen an owl on LI before)--it was quite a magical moment.
