| HI, Rabbi Tom,
Remember your star Hebrew pupil from Cedar
Village? I am delighted for you and your
family that you are moving forward in your
life and ministry. But, I am also sad that
the Cincinnati community has lost you all.I
will always and fondly remember your smile,
encouragement and the way you picqued my
spiritual growth. Should you you return to
Cincinnati even for a visit I would like to
treat you to a Starbucks and share a
conversation. Blessings to you in your new
home and situation.

| Dear Rabbi Tom,
Mendy and I would like to thank you for
conducting a beautiful ceremony for Stacy and
Richard. I wanted to let you know how many
people commented on how meaningful and hamish
the ceremony was and how much they enjoyed
the wedding.
We are grateful to you for making the wedding
a night to remember for us as well as Stacy
and Richard. I wish I could express how truly
touched we were by the ceremony. Thank you,
thank you, thank you for everything. We wish
for you and your family to have good health,
happiness and success in your new position.
Many thanks! |

| Hello Rabbi Tom
Welcome to our congregation. I met you
briefly after the Saturday morning service
you led at the shul. I am so glad you will
be joining us with your family, whom I look
forward to meeting soon, as well. I am
especially happy about your musical strengths
and interests.

| Rabbi, It was with mixed emotions that I read your e-mail. Obviously I am happy for your finding new employment, but disappointed you will be leaving town. It does sound like a wonderful oportunity where you can combine both your spiritual gifts and love for music. So I say Mazel Tov and my only advice is to make sure you pack your long undies for the winter months.
From my Mothers genuine appreciation and gratitude for your kindness to the friendship we have developed, there will be a definite void in you leaving Cincinnati.
Good Luck in Vermont. Their gain is our loss.
Best Regards,
Rick |

| Cincinnati is loosing a GREAT Rabbi - you have been there for a lot of people. I know that you have had contact with Alan Rosenberg and his friends have remarked how wonderful you have been to him.

| Dear Rabbi Tom,
I can't tell you how special you made Michelle and Aaron's wedding. I'm sorry I never got to speak to you personally and tell you how wonderful and warm you are. You made everyone in the room - the family and guests feel a part of Michelle and Aaron's moment. I loved the ambience you created and how beautifully you spoke to them and about them. Thank you so much for being a special part of their ceremony. They loved having you marry them and so did we. The ketubah cermeony was beautiful too. I heard you are moving to Vermont! Much happiness and good luck to you there. They are lucky to get you. Again, thank you so much - we appreciate all you did. Fondly, Raquel and Ron Koff |

| Dear Tom,
I wish you great good fortune and well-being in Vermont. Brattleboro looks like a lovely place to live (I checked out some websites)--manageable in size, artsy, and beautiful. There are many of us, I am sure, that are sorry to hear you are leaving Cincinnati, but we all must follow the path that lead us along in life. You will be busy in Vermont, but don't forget us here in the Cincinnati.
Take care and enjoy your new path.
With Love,
Megan |

Thanks again,

| Mazel Tov, Tom. Your talents had to be recognized. By copy of your e-mail, I'm asking our webmaster and humanist philosopher, Peter Bishop, to add Shir HeHarim to our web site (www.ifshj.org). We can both glean info. about the congregation from its web site, but it would also be great if you would e-mail Peter info. about your philosophical beliefs as you once told me. The two of you could be compatriots.

| Rabbi Heyn, what I admire most about you is the welcoming manner you have for everyone, regardless of religious beliefs. I am from an interfaith marriage. At my father Perry Brenner's funeral, you sang the Lord's Prayer in Hebrew and then recited it in English........so moving to all present. Your gift is how you touch people. Good luck to you and your family. |

| Dear Tom,
I read with sadness for me and joy for you that you are leaving Cincinnati for new opportunities to put your many talents to work. Your presence here certainly has been an important ingredient of my Jewish life through our mutual connection with my beloved Perry Brenner.
Your new community is indeed fortunate to have you in their midst. I hope they show you proper appreciation!
Shalom and l'hitraot,
